My Tattoos – Rachel Williams

I never was one to want tattoos. That is, until I got one. Then I got 13 more. Tattoos now are something I could never imagine myself without.

Rachel

Hey Yo,

My name is Rachel & I am a senior at a university in Florida. I am a South Jerz Beach girl who never met a sunny day she didn’t  . You can find me on the beach, smiling, surfing, or shooting my spidey web. I am always down for group beers or a live band that makes you wanna move. I hope you enjoy my thoughts on Radundergrad.com.

Story behind my Tattoos

My first tattoo was “Love You Tiger” in my Dad’s handwriting after he passed away. I got it above my elbow crease on my right arm. Little did I know that after getting one, it was going to start the slippery slope of my tattoo addiction.

Shortly after I got two more tattoos. A dragonfly on my ankle and the phrase “keep on keeping on” down my arm. During this time of life these two tattoos had a ton of significance to me. They are partially what helped me through the tough times was having these little reminders on my body.

Fast forward some time, Bella and I got matching tattoos that say “as free as the sea.” #BestieGoals

Now I am currently in the midst of creating an under the sea patchwork sleeve on my left arm. So far I have jellyfish, stingray, sea horses, angel fish, starfish, and a skeleton mermaid. It is coming together even more beautifully than I could ever imagine.

It is crazy to think that something I once never could picture myself with is now one of my most favorite qualities of myself. I absolutely adore tattoos because I think they look beautiful and the stories behind them are even more beautiful. If you ever see anyone with a tattoo, ask them about it. I am sure they would love to talk about it and you would probably make their day.

My favorite and the best tattoo artist is Gia. Gia has done 90% of my tattoos. We became good friends in highschool. Gia is now a super successful artist. You can view her work on her social media accounts @artworkbyg
